Congratulations to Johnny Felder & Steve Welch on Their Membership to ABOTA!

McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips is pleased to announce attorneys Johnny Felder and Steve Welch have been invited for membership into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA was founded in 1958 and is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. Membership into the organization is by invitation-only.

About the American Board of Trial Advocates

ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 7,600 lawyers—equally balanced between plaintiff and defense—and judges spread among 96 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

To be considered for selection, members must have at least five years of active experience as trial lawyers, have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience. Members must also exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity and professionalism by following ABOTA’s Code of Professionalism and Principles of Civility.

About Steve Welch

James Stephen “Steve” WelchCongratulations to Johnny Felder & Steve Welch on Their Membership to ABOTA! practices personal injury in both state and federal court throughout South Carolina. With over 30 years of experience, Attorney Welch brings experience as a litigator, writer and instructor to the courtroom. He is also a certified civil and family court mediator, as well as a certified circuit court arbitrator. Mr. Welch also served as a Governor of the South Carolina Association for Justice (Executive Committee) from 1996 to 2003. He also a Founding Member of the South Carolina Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
