Injury claims we handle
We have earned our stripes as personal injury and medical malpractice lawyers – but if you’re like most people, you may not know exactly what that means. At McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips, LLC, it means fighting hard on behalf of those who suffered because of the negligent acts of a doctor or another person, or by a company that makes, sells or distributes dangerous products, like 3M earplugs. This is only a sample of the types of cases our South Carolina lawyers take on behalf of victims and their families. We are your advocates for justice when you are hurt and scared. We take on complex litigation such as class-action lawsuits and MDLs, and fight for individuals and their loved ones when they have been hurt.
Helping consumers injured by defective products
When you sustain injuries from a defective consumer product, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and losses. Contact McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips, LLC to learn about your options if you have been hurt from a defective e-cigarette, 3M’s dual combat earplugs, or from using Monsanto’s Roundup.
Helping sexual assault and trafficking survivors take back control
The South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force reports that, as of 2020, nearly 63% of all current human trafficking cases in S.C. are pending in Aiken County, and that Horry County is #1 for reporting human trafficking cases. The most common type of human trafficking is sex trafficking, accounting for 96 of the 139 reported cases per the Human Trafficking Hotline, and the numbers of victims are only growing. Our top priority is your safety and security, and both female and male attorneys are available to speak with you about your case.
Fighting for veterans and their families
Navy veteran Luke Smyth’s death at William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center was ruled a homicide, so why hasn’t anyone been charged with a crime? Randy Hood, who represents the family of the veteran, speaks with WSOC about the case.
Bacterial Infections at Local Hospitals
Over the last few years, a spate of non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections have broken out in South Carolina and across the country.
