Attorney Amanda Pittman

Mandy Pittman is an associate in the Columbia office, where she focuses on medical malpractice, nursing home, and personal injury cases.

Before joining the team at McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips, Mandy practiced at an insurance defense/subrogation firm and then at a personal injury firm. She has been consistently recognized in her field, earning the title of Midlands Legal Elite in Personal Injury (2019, 2022, 2024) and in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice (2023, 2025). From 2021–2026, Best Lawyers® recognized her among “Ones to Watch.”

Mandy is deeply engaged in the legal community through leadership and service in numerous professional organizations. She serves on the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Association for Justice, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Richland County Bar, and contributes to the South Carolina Bar’s Ethics Advisory and Professional Responsibility Committees. Mandy is also an active member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, and the Sisterhood of the 8.

In June 2024, Mandy graduated from the Three-Week Trial Lawyers College, an intensive program dedicated to enhancing trial lawyers' skills in fighting for the rights of ordinary people.

Beyond her practice, Mandy gives back as the alumnae advisor for Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority at Presbyterian College. Reflecting Presbyterian College’s motto, Dum Vivimus Servimus (“While we live, we serve”), Mandy works to carry that spirit of service into every aspect of her life.

A small-town girl at heart, Mandy grew up in Lugoff, South Carolina. After graduating from Lugoff-Elgin High School, Mandy attended Presbyterian College, where she was inducted into three academic honor societies: Sigma Kappa Alpha, Phi Alpha Theta, and Sigma Tau Delta. She then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was an active member of the Mock Trial Bar and received a CALI award in three courses – Problems in Professional Responsibility, Advanced Legal Writing, and Sales. A CALI award signifies that a student earned the highest grade out of every student in the course.

On a personal note, Mandy is a proud South Carolina “Ultimate Outsider,” meaning she has visited all 47 state parks. When she is not hiking or exploring, Mandy enjoys putting together jigsaw puzzles, spending time with family, and attending Calvary Baptist Church.
