South Carolina injury lawyer William A. McKinnon was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended public schools in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was a math teacher prior to attending law school at the University of South Carolina.

After graduation as valedictorian of his law school class, Bill clerked for the Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr., Chief Judge of the District of South Carolina and the Honorable Andrew J. Kleinfeld, Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Following his clerkships, Bill was an associate with Covington & Burling in Washington, DC in 2003-2004. He then returned to South Carolina and has been practicing law in the state since.

In his spare time, Bill enjoys movies and military history as well as following Gamecock football.
